Week 37, September 8–10, 2015, 9.00 am–17.00 pm
This seminar will discuss the historical references of the public space in relation to art. At the same time we will be looking into contemporary art practices that are dealing with public space as a physical matter as well as a subject matter.
This autumn we will look at power-structures in “public space” and “urban space” – how are these structures materialized and conceptualized? In what sense is a Phenomenological approach considered to loosen up what we can call “the Antinomy of public space” (Sven-Olov Wallenstein).
